America’s youth is threatened by IAAN, a mysterious disease killing kids between the ages of 8 to 14. The survivors, however, are deemed a threat by the national government and are forced to work in rehabilitation camps. This is because of the color-coded powers they possess. Reds can create/manipulate fire. Oranges can alter minds and feelings. Yellows can manipulate electricity. The greens are brilliant. Lastly, blues have telekinesis. The Cruel Prince is a mysterious tale, overflowing with darkness and ambiguity. Jude Duarte, a human girl raised as a child of Faerie, has one goal. Serve as a knight under the king’s rule. However, the road that leads to loyalty to the king involves more obstacles than Jude bargained for. Although I had a hard time relating to Jude, she was very exciting to read about. This book genuinely made my jaw drop. Every plot twist led to a final chapter with such an unexpected ending.
