In this suspenseful thriller, a girl facing legal repercussions for her role in a cyberbullying-related suicide receives a mysterious phone call from a stranger who claims to be on the verge of suicide himself. The caller, Andrew, tells Victoria that he dialed her number “at random.” Given the popularity of Victoria’s name in local news, however, this seems unlikely. But there is little time for either Victoria or readers to question Andrew’s story within the book’s short time frame.

She surprises the entire kingdom when she refuses to follow the tradition of being the first huntswoman with an iron fist. But Célie has been dealing with the nightmares of her own past. Though her friends try to protect her from the trauma and horror from her past, Célie keeps hearing mysterious whispers.

In the previous book, The Inheritance Games, Avery, and the others discover that Toby Hawthorne, the son of billionaire Tobias Hawthorne, who was presumed to have died in a fire, was actually alive. And not only was he alive, he and Avery were known to have a close relationship, which was playing chess in a park together.

The Silent Patient is a psychological thriller novel that portrays the character Alicia Berenson’s story. Alicia Berenson, a famous painter, killed her loving husband one fateful night, and no one knows why. Alicia and her husband had a loving relationship, and no one saw it coming. On top of that, Alicia then decided to go completely mute, refusing to talk to anyone, nor defend her case at court. She then was institutionalized at a mental hospital, to undergo further study as to why she killed her husband.
