Five Survive by Holly Jackson is a great mystery. Red and her 5 friends go on a RV road trip for spring break. They are having a great time until their internet goes out, they make a wrong turn and they discover a hole in all four tires and the gas tank. They soon realize that someone has trapped them in the RV and they have a gun. Soon after this discovery, the captor informs them that one of them has a secret and they will not be let go until the secret spilled.

The Secret History is a captivating novel that blends elements of psychological thriller, school drama, and Greek tragedy. The novel begins with Richard Papen, a working-class student from California, who transfers to Hampden College in Vermont. There, he becomes fascinated by an exclusive group of five Classics students led by their professor, Julian Morrow. Richard manages to join this tight-knit circle, which includes the twins Charles and Camilla, the smart Francis, the reserved Henry, and the angry Bunny.

Cadence Sinclair comes from the seemingly perfect Sinclair family, who visit their private island, Beechwood Island, each summer. Together with her cousins Johnny and Mirren, plus family friend Gat, the four teens form a group self-proclaimed as “the liars”. The reader learns that the Sinclairs aren’t quite as perfect as they seem, with Cady’s mother and aunts obsessed with money and a grandfather obsessed with power, leading to multigenerational family drama that keeps the novel engaging and relatable to many readers.

The Girl in the White Van by April Henry is a mystery book following Savannah Taylor, Jenny Dowd, and others. Savannah is a young teen who loves kung fu. She and her mom live with her moms boyfriend. Savannah and her moms boyfriend do not get along and they fight alot. One day when Savannah gets in a bad fight with her moms boyfriend she runs away to her kung fu class but after her class she gets kidnapped. When she finds herself in a RV she meets Jenny who also got kidnapped and they try together to escape.

This choice haunts Lizzie and doesn’t let her live her life peacefully because all she can do is think about it while it keeps weighing down on her. Her mental state and the subdued atmosphere of her home start distancing her and her family members. At a similar time, she gets news that someone purposefully wanted to see her downfall.

A Girl in the Castle is an interesting, fast-paced book is about a girl named Hannah and her story that will draw you in. Hannah is a girl whom people think is crazy as sometimes she will hallucinate. After being readmitted to Belman Psych she receives more treatment, and we learn more about her hallucination or delusions of being a peasant in the Middle Ages. We also meet a student that’s volunteering at Belman Psych named Jordan.
